I've been going to a United Reformed Church here in Hamilton. The teaching is solid, the congregants extremely friendly, but I find it somewhat amusing to discover that everyone here is...Dutch.

To show that I am not exaggerating, I list the last names of the leadership, as printed in today's bulletin:

Pastor: VanOlst
Organist (morning service): VanGeest
Organist (evening service): Nieboer
Elders on duty: Bontekoe and Buma
Deacons on duty: DeJager and Schotsman
Scripture reading: Nieboer

I have thought about introducing myself as Sarah Vanderfunke, but thought that I might perhaps give my un-Dutchness away....
