Chore of Enchanting the Masses

People, I have discovered via the wonderful institution of a blog counter, come to my blog because of stuff related to Decemberists, Dovstoyevsky, Giant Sand, and Radiohead lyrics. A worthy mix of representation that makes me happy, though I really don't have much insight to offer google searchers on those subjects. I have decided that maybe I should stop name-dropping and actually write on music and literature. Just Trying to Keep the Customer Satisfied.

The listening examples for the Pop Music Post-WWII test I invigilated this morning were so easy that unless these kids grew up in a cave, they could have guessed them if they'd walked into the test off the street.

I won't say what the examples were, as the deferred test is yet to be administered, but let's just say that three major "genres" were all well-represented by their respective cultural icons.
