Confession

Academia makes me feel guilty about a whole variety of things:

Guilty about loving white music.
Guilty about loving black music.
Guilty about not loving black music.
Guilty about not loving white music.
Guilty for making the distinction.
Guilty for not making the distinction.
Guilty for creating the black/white binary that ignores other social groups.
Guilty for ignoring the structures that govern the way our society works.
Guilty for trying to understand The Other Side.
Guilty for claiming incommunicability.

Sigh.

I guess I'll go play me a Beatles' cover of a Chuck Berry song...

You just read Evan's blog?

Yes, but I was thinking about this stuff before he posted and then I got to my computer and saw that, just as he is faster at dictionary sword drills, he also jumps the gun on blog content...

BUT....my version is a faster read. :)

Oh. So, now you are competing for whose blog is most relevenat to current culture?

Posted by: Carrie at 14.10.06 13:36

No...more like competing for whose blog is more relevant to my mind...which apparently can be channeled.

Posted by: funke at 14.10.06 13:56

And the irony is that this is only a competition because I have arbitrarily declared it so: Evan only "wins" because I objected to him winning...

Good grief. We do seem to be converging our thought a lot lately...
