The only thing that can save my computer now is a trip to Miracle Max and a noble cause. But since Miracle Max is off tending a paper cut and my noble cause involves saving my own skin, I trudge dejectedly up to the school library to try to finish off the draft of chapter one.
My computer is my life. My life just died. There is a Mac store not too far from me, so perhaps the miracle is just around the corner, but driving to the Mac store will eat up precious time I don't have. In the meantime, I am on campus with a heck of a lot to do and a cartoon cloud of doom hanging over my head.
Bye, bye, miss [Apple] pie....
PS This particular specimen of Mac-ness was running onto four years, which is pretty much the end of the line for any computer, and therefore does not reflect on the quality of Apple.

I have recently come to the realization that I need to back up everything that is on my iBook, which is obvious but I have been too lazy to do it until now. I have this fear that it may crash at any time, especially since it is almost as old as your recently crashed Mac. I wouldn't go so far as to say that my computer is my life, but it comes pretty close.
Posted by: heidi at 7.11.06 10:38This is largely why I got a gmail account. Half the inbox is from myself: papers, presentations, etc. So I have the latest draft of my thesis (fortunately), but adding to it will be somewhat unconvenient.
However, my dad is Miracle Max himself!
