I got my xanga all clad in greens, reds, and light yellows for the Christmas season. But I hate messing with the colours on my covblog: 1) I feel like it will change the identity of the blog somehow and 2) it's extraordinarily cumbersome (because unless I want to be like the neighbours who leave their decorations up till mid-July, I will have to change it all back come Jan. 1). So to simplify life, I added a picture to the sidebar to represent the season.
I wanted to have a picture of the manger, but the ones I found were all so sentimental and sappy that I thought, if I am going to have a sentimental picture, it might as well be about something that is SUPPOSED to be sentimental. So there you have it. Linnea, that picture is also for you. I hope you watch it a million times this season.
Great picture--I *heart* Jimmy Stewart!!
I think I'm getting more sentimental each time I watch the movie--this year I started getting misty eyed as soon as Mr. Gower popped the poor little guy in the ear.
Oooo, have you seen SNL's very unsentimental take on the "lost ending" of Its a Wonderful Life? I die laughing every time I see it!
Posted by: Jo at 8.12.06 15:02aw, I have never been able to make it through that first Mr. Gower scene without bursting into tears. Actually I think I start crying when Mary says "is this the ear you can't hear out of . . ." oh man, makes me cry just thinking about it. I can't wait to watch this again. Yay, Christmas.
